Well said Bill.... Something neeeds to be done as Ive seen the driving standards gradually drop to that of the debacle of Saturday...As you say it is spiralling towards a serious accident & injury [:^(] The driver briefing was p*ss poor too. No emphasis whatsoever on the fact that extreme caution was required, moving over for faster cars & severe action against anyone misbehaving... [:^(] Do you have a link to CC Bill, as I feel like sharing my views with them too...?
Was there no maximum allowed on track at one time? Also is it OK to overtake on that side at Coombe trackdays? or is it because the pits are outside? That Sierra made me laugh, took it a bit personally didnt he... Talking of VXs I got a ride in a VX220T a last monday at Brands, driven by a sports car racer (forget his name now) Absolutly fantastic! casually chatting and correcting slides while entering corners waaay quicker than the Caterhams I'd been out in all day, made it look easy! Easytrack day as it happens, plenty of room on track and nice atmosphere! PICS inc. some golfs
I was at combe on Saturday, in my friends car on the track at 12.15 (Dark green Rover Coupe turbo) yeah I know its a rover, but 240BHP and 330MM brakes... I came to the same sort of conclusions, but haven't really been to any track days before like that, only mini action days. there was a t**ser in a black mk2 golf who repeatedly pulled the handbrake up going around quarry corner at about 2.00PM, cant remember the time exactly but it was dangerous driving to say the least. When we were on the track visibility was awful, the spray from other cars combined with the rain and lack of traction made for very dangerous conditions, it amazes me that people weren't taken off the track for being such complete f*cking c*nts.
Jake,Combe is about the only track that you pass on the right hand side, feels a bit weird. Good pics BTW Edited by: GVK
Our day at Croft couldnt have been more different, surprised at the lack of traffic on the track, only 15 cars on the track at one time (last time on a CC day it was 30+ and that was ok) didnt see anyone cause a problem although there was the odd off. Agree with you entirely just from the short vids youve posted, disgraceful carry on, you could see the exact point at which GVK though f*uck it
Pity the tape ran out, it got worse Caught and passed an Impreza Turbo, left my braking too late over Avon rise and locked up, he passed me as I was locking up, then he did the same, I passed him again Then I had a big slide around Camp as there was oil down, I went home after that Edited by: GVK
I saw that black golf holding people up and sliding i assumed it was running crap tyres or something the grip was so poor. But pulling the handbrake would do it i guess.
Yeah thats the one I think. Couldn't say for sure. At one point there were about 5 cars inline behind him and he still did it. If I was on the track and he handbraked it like that infront of me, and ended up causing me any problems I'd have to lamp him I got some video footage, got to get it onto the PC yet though. Con
ive got a really crap quality vid on my phone of the mk2 pictured above around quarry... as duff thought i also thought it was down to crap tyres etc, wasn't it a driver rather than gti aswell?
I was behind a black mk2 at about 2.15, he kept on loosing the back end. I got close behind him at Old Padock getting ready to fly past on the way to Tower, and he got it well sideways, I eased off cause I though he had totally lost itand my car just snapped round spinning me into the infield. Of course he caught his slide and carried on. I caught him again a couple laps later when he did eventually spin right off. I caught up with him in the padock, he said his rear tyres were only just legal.
Not guilty Andy.. Pleased I didnt go off all day....Just one overshoot when I locked up going into the Esses on my second session (greasy surface)
