1967 4 door in almond green, 1293 marina engine, mg metro turbo head and a vmaxscart supercharger kit, lowered slightly, minilite alloys and discs off a pug 205 gti modified by me to fit.
In proper speedwell retro styling included bonnet side badges and 60s buckets along with a host of other upgrades.
Unfortunately not many pics as ex wife destroyed stuff.
I even had the 1948 low light front end to go on it, but never got round to fitting before I sold it.
Did everything myself, from a £150 rust bucket to the mad thing it was, looked standard, upset zetec fiestas.

Sorry, not really got any, I downloaded that ages ago, probably only digital one I have.
Will a blown mini one do instead?

My fantasy Mk2 is a Speedwell Blue tin top. There used to be a Minor specialists local one of the old boys in there had a traveller with a Fiat 131 Supermirafiori 2000 TC motor in it.

Did a 131in my old one, and a v4 100e, turbo minis and that sort of thing.
I think it's odd how when I was young, and even up to late 1990s the max of a 'normal ' 2 litre was about 130bhp, fiat, ford, Vauxhall, then suddenly powers sky rocketed and low volume engines eclipsing those figures now, plus I'm unsure what age mpg was more important than bhp in my daily driver.

Cool it went through a few permutations then. Yeah I was reading the 'Turbo Technics is 40' their Metro kit was just shy of £950 at the dealers for 70>95bhp. A third of the price of our Metro City in '82.

so lots of parts arrived this week for my window project and like all projects they have their obstacles to overcome.

images are not great, but you get the idea

So essentially we have pop out windows.. the issue i have is that the glass that Heritage have supplied seems to have the holes drilled too far away from the edge of the glass by about 10mm.

So what problem does this cause? the hinges that i have are essentially 10mm too short in joining to the B Pillar
How can i over come this? A couple of ways really.. i can probably source some new longer hinges - i just need to identify what ones, I could weld a bit of metal to the B Pillar to make up that 10mm Gap. or i could make some hinges out of stainless, but they probably would not look that pretty.

Longer hinges definitely , and it'd work better.

10mm spacers? Just used some when mounting the intercooler. Like a chunky washer.
What were the hinges off? Peugeot 206 and 106/saxo use something similar looking, definitely a saxo up at somerton scrapyard, and you may be able to have a wander around and look if you mention me haha, or they may just arrest you immediately! May be some Renault stuff that fits too, clio or something.
Edit, how far does the trim protrude, tack a spacer on to B post, hide under trim, plastic black washers under hinges?

they are indeed off a 206, another forum member has done the same but they fit really well, it can only be down to the glass not having the correct hole point. The glass was ony £25 a side and the seal came to about £45 from Heritage, so i'm pretty determined to get it to work.

im learning to weld at the moment but don't have my own equipment, so perhaps making longer hinges will be a better plan. 1mm steel would be enough and its easily shaped, just needs to be consistent

These aftermarket ones are what look to be 1mm steel and nothing complicated

could take the opportunity to make a nice mounting bracket which picks up from holes already on the A pillar rather than drill holes in the shell

so after some investigation i think the solution will be to just make up some slightly longer hinges at 45mm from window mount to b-pillar, this will allow the window to fit nicely and i won't have to spend any more time ttawling the internet for hinges from other cars, as they seem to not really exist online!

if you are happy to make up the hinges, then i still think its a decent mod to do and saves loads of money over buying a kit

If you printed it in the correct material, it’s super strong stuff.

If you can send me some dimensions, I can throw something together quickly, print something and send it over. See what you think?
