After a productive weekend of sorting out the brakes and puttingh the wiring back after removing the old alarm and imoboliser. I am lef with a unsightly hole in my dash from the old imoboliser key fob, this simply wont do:p.

I have thought in the past about getting the dash trimed in alcantara but more i look at the dash i think it looks tired.

Do any of you guys have experince with dash swaps?

If so what dashboards fit the mk2 i have seen mk3 swaps and some mention of polo 6n.

Are there any links to any how to conversions?

    Advice is much appreciated.

Mk3 one sticks out too much. Corrado dash is FTW.

Corrado dash has always been my favourite in MK2's, got no info on it though.

We can repair your dash and then flock it, which will make it look completely fresh again and a bit more up to date if you fancy it?

You cant use your wing mirror adjusters if you use a Corrado dash, If that makes a difference.

Or go all `posh` and get leccy ones... ;)

Corrado dash needs a fair amount chopped out of the rear radius so that it doesn`t sit too far forward. It`s not a straight forward swap (none are, TBH), but they do look good. Got one planned for mine.

Keep looking on ebay or put a wanted ad in the Classifieds here.

You`ll need the airbox too, BTW, so that all the vents match up easier. Not too critical if you get an early dash, since it uses the same heater sliders as a Mk2, but it`s a must on a later one (ie, VR6), since it uses the rotary controls like a Mk3, and would therefore be easier to get everything working as it should.

    Thread hi-jack...[:$]
While we are on the subject of mirrors, Has anyone seen a guide to take a complete unit apart and recon?
I've got 2 internals for both sides x2 but one has been sprayed with paint and then glued with mastic and the other has been sat in a field for a couple of years so neither adjust very well!

b3 (and b4?) passat dash is basically the same as a corrado one fyi

you also cant use manual window winders with mk3 dash, not 100% sure if same is true with passat/rado. either way, electric windows ftw. corrado 1 touch if you feel posh

My corrado dash had the rotary controls and it was terrible, All the knobs wer backwards and most of it didnt select properly.

I still have the dash but i dont think its useable.

I do love the Corrado dash in mk2's, and it is something I may have planned for my 16v (Depends how far I take it as a temporary track car!). The air vents are the real pains from the one I have seen, but if you do a search in a google there is a nice guide out there which if i remember includes a section on modifying the airbox.

That`s why I`ve went for the Corrado airbox too. The side and centre vents appear to offer up fine, and the only piece that will need modifying is the upper section for windscreen demisting.

The Corrado one doesn`t quite bolt up to the Mk2 mounting point, and sticks forward too far, as a result, and the Mk2 one bolts up, but doesn`t meet the top of the airbox correctly, so some cut-and-shut should make a suitable one from the two.

    Thanks for input Guys.

I already have lecy windows just need to find lecy mirrors.

Corrado dash certainly looks an improvment to me!

I would have to see a flock dashed in a car to see if i like it i am in Devizes Wiltshire if anyone got one locally.

What year is the passat b3/b4 if it has same dash?

I did an early corrado dash and had all heaters fully working. Mk2 had leccy windows , switches relocated to pocket infront of the gearlever. Had the side mounts bolt up to the mk2's. Didn't change the airbox. Cut out the mk2 dash section for the demister and 'glass it onto the rado dash in the right place. Steering column mount needs modding and rewelding so clocks can got in and drivers vent tube to work properly. HTH

Forget the passat dash it's quite a bit wider than the corrado one

Mk3 Golf dash fits perfect if you take your time, too many people rush the job and then the heaters work backwards
