It's no easy descision really is it...

I'm wanting to go for "OEM+" really, TT Comps are at the top of my list but finding a set locally isnt too likely.

What about the wheels you get on the Anni mk3s?

    Or any other suggestions?

    Pics appreciated!

    Cheers :)

How about a nice set of santa monicas? I think they look good on a mk3 IMO.

Santa monicas are also on the list actually...I will have a look [:D]

RC's are lovely but really really pricey, not really worth the money for a new set IMO.

How much do the santa monica reps go for? Sites i've looked at have been around the 600 mark..is that about right?

Don't really want to spend over 600 TBH.

How much would you expect to pay for a set of santa monica replicas? Is around the 600 mark the usual price?

Oh one more thing, I will be lowering 30-40 mm

Will 17s be comfortable? What about when there are people in the back?

Given the bigger tyres, would it make much difference over 16s?

Been looking at some 16" Santa Monicas

    The tyres are 205/55 (!!!!)/16

    55?? My 15s are on 50's. 55 will be massive won't it :S

What size should 16s have usually?

I've got TT competition wheels on my black 3dr mk3 gti. I'm really happy with them and how they look. I was going to lower it, but with these wheels, it looks good how it is. The only thing is getting tyres is a pain, because nobody keeps that size in stock, so I have to have them ordered everytime. I got the wheels from a breakers and paid only 450 for them with the rubber, so I am still well chuft with the deal I got 2 years later. I would keep looking until you get the wheels you want, it's worth it.

Yeah they are a lovely wheel!

What tyres are you running on them? 205/45/17?

What is the actual consequence if you run 225/45/17?

I have 205/45/17's on them. They are a lower profile tyre, and I like the look, because they make the rim look bigger. The original circumference of the previous tyres was 195, so I have tried to stick as close to that as possible to avoid problems with body rubbing and inaccuracy of the speedo. You will need spacers on the front wheels though, as the brake caliper putrude and obstruct fitment. I would hunt around breakers and scrap yards to find a set. I wouldn't pay more that 650 for them though. Good luck

Dont worry I wouldnt go that high anyway

There are other wheels I like also so i won't be dissapointed if I can't get TT Comps.

Wasnt aware that you would need spacers mind!

Hmm i was pretty much set on 17" Santa Monicas but the more I see cars with BBS RX the more I want them....and don't want to order if not 100% convinced yet...

Where is the cheapest place for them? I was quoted 1059 for 17s and 899 for 16s (with tyres, delivered) from Race & Road....seems a hell of a lot of money!

What about places with CGTI members discount?

Also - What about maintenance, I've read that they need alot of it....is this the case? I dont want to be having to get expensive refurbs done annually!

    Cheers!
