thats weird as mine does that too only sometimes, when it does it feels a little flatter through the gears. Mine only started doing this after I put a 2L bottom end and ported head. I thought it may be suspnsion as I polybushed all the wishbones, subframe was off etc... and I have not had alignment done yet.

worth going through rubjonnys digifant FAQ in the stickies. it gets said all the time but the blue temp sender can make a big difference to how these cars run (ECU thinks the engine is cold when its not or vice versa and the air/fuel ratio gets screwed up), as well as the condition of the HT ignition components (coil, dizzy cap, leads, plugs)

clean out the throttle body too, its probably full of oily mess from the crankcase breather.

Sounds like random misfire ( under load) to me.
Replace leads and plugs should be fine after.

cheers Ive kind of neglected the problem for a while, it works itself into a real wobble sometimes especially if you keep the revs just right, very weird feeling that whilst doing 70ish on the motorway

Well av changed Blue Temp Sensor, Plugs, Leads, Dizzy, Dizzy Cap, Rotor Arm Checked ECU mines not that bad though, only seams like it misses for a split second every now and again. Deffo ignition Coil next i think. Al find out how bad it is when am off to Scotland next Week. 150 motorway miles. Fingers crossed [:s]

theres a breather pipe to the inlet, he means the inlet side blocked and a filter placed on pipe :)

Oh I didnt realise that was an option, Mine is just normal at the moment although the breather pipes are quite soft.

imo not worth it though and technically it sahouldnt pass mot like that and/or not legal. I routed my breather to a catch tank to rule out any breathing problems, noticed no difference whatsoever so put it back. main advantage is it doesnt send oily fumes into the intake so you dont have to clean the throttle body so often :)

perhaps after 18 years one of the fuel pumps is getting weak? only around top end motorway speed in 5th. 2.0 big valve head fitted.....

Mine started doing this today and it's puzzling me because.....

    New coil/leads/plugs/dizzy
Crank case vented into a catch can
    New ECU temp sender

I think I'm going to check the det sensor, from my past cars it can cause a problem, also does the digifart have a lambda probe?

UK models didn't usually have lambda, rarely they did but only fitted if car was specced with a CAT.
Euro and US models did have them as most places CAT was fitted by law by this time.
