I secretly look at the wheels for sale section on ED38.

But it makes me laugh when someone has a set of BBS advertised for 1800.00 and fully expects someone to roll up with the readies when they won't post a picture of said wheels with the advert... madness...

If you're gonna lose the Lugs, do it properly.

^"2341 Cr-Mo Swedish toolsteel (sort of like a very very high end 4340 US) and 7075 T651 spacers.
Nuts are from Porsche GT3 as are retaining clips.
"RA"(surface finish) under 0.8 for all parts."

I don't think they have quite the right look about them. They're different to race versions - they look a bit nasty, a bit centre trimy.

smells more like visa card and 5 years debt.
I'd rather spend what I can afford on a set of 13" steelies and some soft slicks for track use anyday over them.
I'll run cheap stuff and drive slowly in the daytime.

Doesn't that mean you can remove a wheel with nothing more than a 21mm socket? [:s]

^^^ thats the least of your worries, if you don't have your disc retaining screw and were relying on your 4/5 wheel bolts to keep the disc on then you could be in big trouble, nothing will be aligned properly, dirt will get in everywhere and before you know it your wheels will be falling off

Since that thread, I have actually had all my cars modified to have no less than 24 disc retaining screws on each corner. The discs and hubs look like swiss cheese and could fail at any moment - but I'll be damned if I'm going to let any dirt get in there and cause wheel wobble. ITZ SCINCE!

Regards the CSL white thing, they didnt make ANY in white. They made silver-grey and black.

The white CSL NO one is indeed Steve and its Vinyl wrapped, its actually silver-grey underneath.

The white M3 in the background of the TT is just that, a white M3 with CSL alloys and an aftermarket CSL bumper. From that distance the obvious giveaways are the roof and bootlid not being correct.

Yes, the wheels are for a track car.
Centre-bolt rims are widely used in Motorsport, but you knew that already, right?
Mk3valver - why would anyone ever forget to fit their disc retaining screws? Least of all a super-anal swedish motorsport mechanic?

it all depends on how much danger you need in your life. Mark likes danger turned up to 11. People normally start dying at about level 8 danger

My mate forgot to put one of the screws in on his Calibra. One day the car pulled violently to the left, both N/S brakes locked up and he careered off the road into a tree. :o

    he later died in hospital.
