I had expected this to be some ordinary cap but it’s a series of cylinders with a small hole. Is there a delicate mechanism inside or can it be immersed into Bilt Hamber Deox C like all my other rusty bits?

Thank you yes that’s it. I won’t completely submerge it as its clearly a mechanism of some sort. I’ll just put it upside down up to a certain level of Deox c
