The bit that's broken off that sparkplug might be magnetic, no (not at all sure)? Could be a route to removal if there's anything of it left.

What are you doing running an engine that you're not sure about?

Drop a loose hex nut in the plug hole next time FFS!!!

I know Chris, was under advice of a mechanic who said if I've damaged it I can't make it worse!

As it's a 1999 T plate with 143K on clock, maybe time to get a newer one

How much would I get for my car if I sell it for spares or repairs?

Had all new lowered springs on within last 12 months, new updated clutch less than 2,000 miles ago. Remapped to estimated 200BHP, 25th anniversary head lights

Get the piston to Bottom & insert a fine magnet on a stick, electrode magnetic & thats still bouncing around in there
might be breaking down or damaging chamber, may of not damaged valves (bent them), or may be jamming valve open

Head off to check, possibly repair?

I'd definitelybe whipping head off. If bits have gone through exhaust port, could mean turbo damage.

There are a few AGU complete engines for sale on ebay for under 400 atm.

Might be worth a look if yours is damaged, and then make your money back breaking your current engine. For eg - Inlet, ect ect
