Anyone with a 16v on carbs?

I'm tired of reading that a 16v on carbs is better than one on k-jet.

We never get any Valvers on carbs at the rolling road days (well not the ones I've been to) [:$]

16v rolling road day at Stealth racing August 21st.

Be there or be a wonky ram pipe. :p

wahey 16v on carbs is on the plate for the long term mods... i was
recommended it by voodoo motorsport. sounds good for about 160 bhp. and
    carbs sound better. the roar!

how much should a conversion to 16v on carbs from a 8v carb cost? what
needs to be done to the car? how much should i be saving up for the
    whole operation...?

From what i can gather GVK, theres absolutly no point in going the carb route unless you get them set up 100%. That would involve hours of tinkering with chokes then jets etc by someone *WELL experianced*! Gains would be around 10-20%ish but at the expense of economy - 20mpg isnt uncommon if you have a lively right foot! Carbs can give the same performance gain as throttle bodies but at a fraction of the cost.

You'll hear alot of nonsense about carbs going out of tune every other day but it all comes down to how well it was set up. Ive heard a few people not needing another set up till the following year, and that was only a minor tweek.

Ive never owned a car with twin carbs but as i use mine everyday, im not that interested. If, on the other hand, its a track day toy, id seriously concider it.

I will be there.... now I have sorted the fuel pump issue, 2.0 9A fitted with 45 DCOEs and Piper 270 cams,

Had very low power last time, but this was due to me not removing the old fuel injection pump, so the Facet pump was having to pull through the old pump.

had 164lbft torque last time though....

My mates old 205 mi16 on 45s with standard head and cams was good for 195 bhp.

His new engine which someone had started to port the head on that he had to finish is only 186bhp, and peaks at 7000rpm.(the first engine threw a rod and holed the block [8(] )

Not the same engine i know, but shows a hell of a lot of potential for a 2.0l with pack A head and fast road cams running 45s.

And the sound! phap me what a noise!
