Dodgy cambelt purchase?

    somethings dodgy with it ...why have your bum nip up everytime you want to rev the car up and wonder if the belt will come off

    sometimes scuzzers will order genuine parts and put fakes /old ones in the box to send back for a refund

    From GATES direct:

    Thanks for sending pictures. The compound has bloomed which is migration of some chemicals.
    This causes no detrimental effect to the belt but visually it looks poor. The white bloom would wash off easily.
    I would suggest that the belts are returned and we send the customer a good looking belt without bloom on the surface.
    Please return the belt to the plant for inspection.

    So looks like the GATES has factory in Dumfries.


    I will see if I can get the postage paid from the company I bought it from then send the belt to Gates. So genuine GATES belt can look like this. Very interesting to know.

    That was from the kit I sent back.

    This is a new kit I have received and the belt had the same marks.
