Good idea mate, but the only thing is that my Mk2 is currently sorned off the road, also without insurance too. So it would be a little tricky getting the Mk2 down to you. But thanks for the offer mate. Not too sure when im planning to do the actual engine transplant tbh. Im just waiting for another loom to arive from Ebay, as the one i bought had quite a few cuts in it. Things ive gathered so far are - * Complete PB Engine with ancillaries * Ecu * Gearbox * New Clutch * Airbox * Fuel Rail * Throttle Body * New Rad * New In-tank pump And just waiting on the loom now... Also need to find an under-car pump for it to. I have my own lock up, with lots of various tools and quite alot of space to work on the car. If you come across any problems or need some help, just let me know and i dont mind giving you a hand with a couple of things...
Yea i might have to pop to Halfords today and buy a full 150pce socket set. I do have various tools in my lock up, but they are not organised at all, as my Brother seems to always borrow them and not put them back in there correct places How much did they cost you mate?
I recieved my new loom today. Everything seems to be there and i must say, he's taken his time carefully taking it all out. Only charged me 30 which i thought was great... All the plugs, clips ect are all there and intact, so hopefully it will make it so easier when i eventually start to connect everything up! Hows yours coming along Jamie? Have you got the lump in yet?
Nope not yet, it's my daily driver so it has to be done after I've finished college. Still haven't received all my parts.. I've got two different guys I'm sourcing stuff from and NEITHER have replied to my e-mails in a week! [:S]
sounding silly or not... ive just bought a GTI 8V (a real one) as i sold my Driver / GTI earlier in the year. The GTI is not nearly as quick! The 1800 GTI lump, on a 4 branch and weber carb correctly set up.. went VERY VERY well compared to this GTI.. and ive had the injectors cleaned professionally & flow tested. I did like the idea of the 2.0 8V on the driver carb, very easy, and rewarding.. (untill mine blew up) haha
