A little naughty putting a forum name on a VW publication? More of similar here, without any attempt to nab the publishers credit: http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193256
Had the cam chain & tensioner changed on mine last week (warranty ) & what a difference !!!!!!! .No more diesel rattle when it's warmed up.This is starting to happen to a few mk5 now, mostley on 05 plate & engine code AXX.
I cant wait to chop one of those babies up to see whats goin on inside. head ports look very good i have to say, as do the balance shaft assemblys, does that unit look as if it would fit a standard 06A block?
From what I've seen, this engine crankcase is so different from the EA827 (8v/KR etc) / and EA113 (ABF) that it looks completely new era. Might be a useful listing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_petrol_engines

Im very interested, but not a paid member, which reminds me, I really have to get on that one. So, YES, Im interested.
Brian, the title is a bit misleading. It should be engine info for the "FSI" engine. When you dessect this motor you will see it is the same as your 06A experiment considering it uses an 06F block. I did the cylinder heads a couple of months ago. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4430065 You can see what is going on in these heads.
