equal-length driveshafts

    I reckon you'd still need a bearing and bearing housing (VERY STRONG) at the outboard end of the straight link.

    I don't think you could have a straight section which is just supported at one end by the diff. you'd get ridiculous bending forces on the joint with the angled section.

    glad to have sparked a few thoughts though!
