ethernet help for a dummy...

    The easiest way to do this really is..

    on the laptop open the network connections, right click properties on the NTL Broadband, one of the Tabs in there will be to do with sharing an internet connection, enable it..

    Then do properties on the 'LAN' connection properties in on TCP/IP change the I.P address to 192.168.0.1 and the Subnet should automaticly be enetered if not set it to 255.255.255.0

    then, on your PC, properties on your LAN connection, then properties on TCP/IP and set the I.P to 'Obtain I.P address automaticly'

    might have to restart both computers after
    oh yea also right click on Internet explorer goto properties, then to connections and select 'never dial a connection' then click on LAN Settings and select 'Automaticly detect' :)
