well sorted the old one out and put it back together with a tin can, a hacksaw as a splint and some wire, should hold to get it to midvw!! [:D] [:D]

turns out my middle box is a supersprint and the back box is a scorpion, what a mish mash!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for the full Jetex, can anyone tell me if Jetex do different back boxes or tail pipes or is it just one type?

    Cheers
    Rich

I think they do different ones depending on if it's S/S or not. Will check the catalogue later once I've had some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's [|)]

Just had a look and scanned the page from the catalogue. It seems for a Mk 2 8v you can only have twin 80mm rounds, and for a 16v you can have twin 80mm rounds or DTM.

    See the page here

    Hope this helps :)

Mine broke too so I had to drive home with it hanging off.
Get a supersprint - to be cheap, you can get straight-through pipes and a rear silencer only. Quiet at idle, loud when you stamp on it. I have a SS manifold, too, just to be a bit louder.

I've heard bad things about jetex actually mate. I know a guy who has a full system on his 8 valve and its really quiet. He reckons it was a pretty poor fit and not the best quality. He's in the process of buying a magnex i think. I would seriously consider a magnex if i was you mate.

I know of at least 7 Golf's with Jetex's fitted -- 2 have been my own.
The quality of build is brilaint and they fit perfect.
Yes they are quiet.. but i spent ages looking for a full system that was quiet -- who wants to have a loud exhaust anyway!?

i'd take jetex over magnex anytime.

ive had one magnex full system inc downpipes and a couple of there back boxes over the years.they sound good for a few months then the baffles went.they have gone in every box ive had from magnex.

ive had 2 mild steel jetex exhaust systems on mk1's and they were brilliant couldnt fault them.and the stainless steel one i had on the mk3 was excellent.

noise levels are far more restained with jetex than the magnex boomers

I've been told either to go for Jetex or Supersprint, I'd tend to go for a stainless Jetex and that way you get a lifetime warranty.
Problem I've got is that I can't find a system with tiwn tailpipes smaller than 3" (76mm), personally I like the standard design and would like a replacement that is only a bit larger. Seems like you can only buy exhausts systems that make you look like a maxpower driver :(

Hey Tubthumped is that the Jetex twin round 80mm? If it is it doesn't look as big as I though it would, although have you another pic showing the whole rear end of the car?
