I have a problem with my MK2 8v, it has an erratic idle and sometimes stalls. Ive been trawling the message boards and tried various fixes but no success as of yet. Does anyone know a good mechanic in the Belfast area to take a look at it for me?

    Cheers

hi i was browsing through you forums
can anybody tell me what the above statement is based on?
As i have been a loyal customer of NN MOTORS for the best part of 5 years now and personally i feel they are the best garage in bangor, esp when you consider the prices that Agnew charges these days.

kkh120> Where are you mate? I could pop round and have a gander at it for you, probably won't be able to cure it there and then but we could swap parts from my 8v to eliminate things like ISV, senders, AFM etc.

edit: just PM'd you some contact details aswell.

Based on my personal experience, and that of a fair few other people. I wouldn't let them wash a car, let alone do work on it! Take it to Artie Graham instead, he's honest, good with the spanners and not hard to pay.:)

Artie Graham is a top man. My mum's been taking her car there for years since NN Motors ripped her off, so has her neighbour since he did the same to her! New premises too, up at Balloo these days.

So your saying NN MOTORS ripped your mum and your neighbour off
and based on that you would take it somewhere else

im not attacking you or anything but as i said im very happy with tthe price and service at NN MOTORS so i think ill stay there

in fact i was in NN MOTORS today getting my car serviced and artie popped in to get some tire's fitted

hmmmm weird that artie goes to NN MOTORS

i dont understand if you asking this or assuming it?
if you are asking, then no im not the proprietor or NN MOTORS.

So by using your logic of thinking, i could presume that you ARE "Artie Graham"

I'm nothing to do with Artie, I do all my own work on my cars. But it does seem a little strange that your first action on joining the forum is to dredge up a 3 year old thread, and then post about nothing else? Do you work for NN?
And for the record, NN billed my mum for changing discs and pads. Changed the discs, reused the old pads but charged her for new ones. The old pads they reused wore to the metal less than a month later. Did exactly the same thing to her neighbour. Another mate took his car there when it failed the MoT on one front flexi - they said it would be safest to change both (I agree), and charged him for this. When I had a look, they had only changed the defective flexi and left the old one on the other side in place. Criminally stupid, in my opinion, to do shoddy work on brakes.
Those 3 people now go to Artie Graham, and are very happy with him. I warn everyone I can away from NN Motors, because my opinion is that they are cowboys.

Well in the above cases did you friends, mum and neighbour not take there cars and there bills back?
Secondly no i do not work there, as i have already stated i am a loyal customer so why should i not post my opinion on the place since you have expressed your view in very large detail

I didnt "dredge" anything up, i was simply putting forward a statement

You are more than welcome to your opinion, but as in many aspect of life everybody is different.

Finally its not that i have anything against artie, as i know him very well.
