Climate Control: You set the temperature and the car maintains it however it needs to, though often it does random stuff like blasting full on hot air at you from a random angle for around 2 minutes for absolutely no dicernable reason. If its like the MK4 you will have tempsensors around the car.

Manual Control: Just knobs like a conventional ventilation system, but with air con to blast cold air. These two systems are not interchangeable as CC has so many other bits around the car.

I had the latter in the 1.6 and the former in this one and TBH, sometimes the CC pi$$es you off, but its set and forget so definetly nice.

Car looks great, but is there anything you can do about the seats? 126k has taken their toll on the leather!

The only thing thats changing at first is the Chrome numberplate trims, then i guess its up to the g/f what she does with it, if she likes it :o , she was looking at mk4 gtis but when i saw this for that cash i tried to change her mind. I suppose i'll find out if she likes it on Sunday.
She drives a Y-reg 306 meridian at the moment so she would be quids in with the VR.

well 306's do handle very well....but a vr6 is a much more comfy car. i bet she loves it!

reason i asked is that the airbag slip ring is broken in my girlie's mkIV polo. now unless i'm wrong, the slip ring is part of the steering wheel? it'll cost 100 for the ring, but i reckon if i can find someone who's took the o.e. wheel of they're vr6 (with workin slip ring) it'll cost less...and be soo much nicer than the plastic rimmed wheel on her polo at the mo.

Well i've got it now, 190 miles back on the M1 then M6 were a pleasure. The condition is better than i expected and even the acratch isnt that bad.

Its in for its mot as i speak, all i could see it needed was 2 tyres and a rear wiper blade. The gearstick is like stiring porridge (as was the vr i bought to convert my mk2) any others like this?

The g/f doesnt like the shape and thought it was going to be like a mk4 [:x] but that means i can sell it on and make a small profit with a bit of look.

yep...i have a poor gearshift as well. prob with mkIII's is that you can beat the syncro if you do fast changes, and i didn't wanna slow them down, so now i have no syncro left!!! (it was mostly gone already...but i don't care...i can heel and toe!).

put a set of mkIV headlamps on it and she won't tell the difference.

I've just put a wanted add in classifieds for a damaged vr6 for a mate. Might end up eith a couple of engines with a bit of luck. I'll do you a good deal on one.
