If people don't mind, I thought I would tidy this up into one thread so that people can see at a glance the times being posted and who is the fastest!

Current Challenge

Mode: Time Trial
Track: Nurburgring Nordschleife
Car: Mk5 Golf GTI

Modifications: Unrestricted


Rules

Times: Lap times need to be valid 'white' laps and viewable on the 'Rankings' page.

Proof: With most people having mobile phones and digital cameras, those posting top 3 or top 5 times need to be accompanied by proof, there is a guide on the forum for how to post pictures (or pictures can be emailed to me)

Think 16valver has done a 7.10 so when he sticks up a pic we all got our work cut out trying to beat it, take it we'll stick to putting video and pictures in this thread now.

 

Shall we add a fully modded mk1 challenge too?

 

Did not post last night as it is a red - went off on the grass and hit barrier. Hopefully will get a clean lap and will save replay and take a vid.

Even though my first go was rough I was still going for it, can't see where I'm gonna find 21 seconds! I'm only getting 156 mph flat out?!?

 

Gear it up a bit more, seems counter intuitive but it has more torque about 500rpm before the redline and can pull better there.

 

Short shifting ftw, make use of that torque.

I only top the high 150's after going past the bridge where people start there lap times on tourist days.

 

This now brings back memories of GT4 and why I have a bag full of 5 broken PS2 controllers. You near the end of a good lap and bin it

 

You can get 160 on the straight, but no matter what ratios, it will not pull (much) more than that.

Is is on limiter at 156mph? What is your F/D set at?

I've managed a 7:08.527 but it included a side tap with the barrier running wide before getting to the mini-carousel, red lap.

 

No Barriers - just!

Added the friend requests I recieved. Did not realise you had to go into the main PS menu, had been trying to add through the GT5 online bit
