My friend has one of those evo thingies its a 5 and has a powder fc and it runs about 350hp but I think maybe hes talking pub figures anyone confirm? Anyway, he thinks he can beat me so I called his bluff and were going to a sprint in Wales with a few other friends and are going to go up against each other.

Im thinking that ill have the early advantage as I think turbo cars suffer from a bit of lag?? I also dont think he can drive to well atall, well im hoping that as his car does look a bit of a animal. I havent seen it go yet though, I think maybe he likes to polish it too much. He is also carrying a bit more *ahem* weight than me from eating alot of trifle and stella. Does anyone know the weight of A golf?

My car is a 1989 Gti 16v, I think its 1.8. Whats the power and weight? Do I stand a change?

I simply have to beat him and prove im great.

    front mounted IC maybe?

either way, standard they are in the 250bhp region, I think. and even if it did weigh twice as much as your golf, which I doubt, its got a very good 4wd system (good traction off the line). So you'd better hope he's a REALLY bad driver!

your golf is approximately 139bhp and 900kgs (my vague recollections of standard figures).

Well I havent seen him drive it yet as I said i think he just likes to polish it? I have yet to meet him on the road but I told him I dont race on the road which is why we are going to this sprint event.

Do you think its worth getting a filter and exhaust for my golf as I think these are the standard items? What would that give me 160hp? if his is 250Hp then that gets it a little closer. My friend has Nawws on his caddy, would this be an option for me? If I have a 50 shot that will even it up more?

well I did say I would woop him before I seen the car, it does look a bit of an animal.

    I am a great driver though ;)

I think a total strip out is on the cards, maybe I need a second engine in the boot?

He will eat you, your K&N, and your exhaust as a pre- breakfast snack, then sh*t you out onto a handkerchief and laugh.

If you get 21BHP from a filter and 'zaust, then I'll eat said hankerchief also.

I reckon you should develop a serious case of cold and chicken out of the race, unless you enjoy loosing. They are seriously quick and have THE (arguably) best 4wd system in existence.

Even if he can't drive for poo, he'd have to forget which pedal to push to accelerate for a valver to beat him!

Is this a wind up...?
