If it comes down to buying a 99 set from Halfords or a Snaprip off I'd pocket the difference and spend it on the car.
Halfords tools are made by licence under Facom, so their quiality is actually very good. Granted you normally pay for what you get, but this time I'd say for 99 it ain't bad. The bulk of the sockets are only 3/8 though and are a bit short though. Another good make as an alternative would be Roebuck, again life time warranty and good quality without the high price
True Golfs are all metric Define "Proper" Car "Proper" - Adjective, Something old, RWD and with more than 2 litres. Should run on carburettors, use a distributor and be outrageously cool to look at.
Bought loads of Halfords tools in the past,always though they felt well made,how can you argue with a lifetime guarantee?
