    love the last pic zak!

i will tell you something - those wheels make thecar look so goos!

pity that look is being done all the time now!

when you did it a few months ago, people were still creaming about porsche rims and the like!

Thanks for the comments :) .

Im back in work now so hopefully get a few things that i have planned for the car done over the winter.

Rags i know you like the dark centres on the wheels when i done them, at the time when they were silver and i said i was going to get the done in black everyone was telling me not to do it... but after they were done most people liked the look.

As for plans with the wheels im going to polish the centre nut bit on the centre caps then try and change the look of the centres again... not sure exactly at the moment.

Also 60mm is not low enough so i'll be saving for coilovers :p

Amazing what an impact a set of wheels can make to a car!

Very nice, but I wouldnt lower it anymore.

Can't leave it any longer. I've looked at it over and over and I just f**king love it.

    There, I said it.

b.t.w what suspention do you run at the 'mo to give you the 60mm drop? and is that 60mm from GTi spec or from standard?

I'm not sure if the car is 60mm lower than standard spec or gti spec, i just bought 60mm lowering springs and used them with the boge dampers that i had on the car already. But the car sits higher than i would like on the front
    [IMG]
Ive got some bonrath lowering caps sitting at home but im undecided if i should put them on as ultimately i want to get a set of coilovers and i don't want to waste 50 on wheel allignment when that money could go towards the coilover fund. Coilovers would also improve the ride as it is bad with the 60mm springs.

look like 60 from standard, I think that is what they always quote. When I bought mine the guy said it was 20 lower, but I think that was from non-GTI too 'cus it looks like GTi to me! Compare to your pic:

Good point about the comfort of the ride. I'm still undecided, but yours is about what I'm after (maybe a bit more at the front too), but ride quality is very important. Will be listening out for comments if you do get some coilovers m8.

    Again, very nice Mk1.

GTi thanks for the comments again [:D] . I think 60mm lowered with lowering caps on the front is about right on the mk1 but ride quality is definately a major factor! A mate of mine has a set of weitec coilovers on his mk1 and the ride is so much better than mine, its still firm but it absorbs bumps and doesn't crash over potholes. I'm most likely going to get a set of FK konigsport coilovers, will be a few months yet but will post up comments and new pictures when i get them :)

dude, you need some wind deflectors! didn't spot it first time round.

also, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the crosshair lights?

Ive got the wind deflectors in the garage but im unsure about putting them on, might try them and take a few pictures to see what everyone else thinks? I bought the lights together with a set of eibach arbs from alby about a year ago and can't remember how much i paid [:s]

IMHO you have to have the deflectors. Not only because they look good and reduce noise, but also because they are one of the defining features of a Campaign.
