Do you mean like the 16V G60 TB elbow, such as the one BBM did? My BBM one might be going spare, but I'm not quite sure yet so best hang onto it.

Does the top of your TB there look much like the G60's? Do you have similar threads onto which the TPS could be mounted?

I've spotted a mention in one of the tuning books of a Gen Motors part being bolted straight down on top of an 8v TB - posting it here as I've been looking for somewhere to put it:

Yeah this one, but I would be using it on the offside just to clear the brake fluid res and so that piping to the IC would be a little more direct.

The elbow I have at the minute looks like this

and is what I would like to keep, but it only mates with the flat topped TB's.

I don't know what the G60 TB looks like, but the picture I posted in #18 is what the top of my current TB looks like. Unless you mean top when it's mounted, but in any case no there's nothing that sticks out far enough for the TPS to mount on.

I'll have to make some sort of bracket like this one

Isn't that similar to how Drunkenalan has done it on his 8v?

Smudge, how did you get an extended barb on the throttle spring spindle, was it always that length or did you swap it from another TB? Has your TB been gasflowed? Who did it?

Smudge - really nice looking job. Yep, that's how I meant; I think the chap on vwsyncro.co.uk did his in a similar way. I'd need to shove an old HDD into the laptop to find the images on an old email.

thegave - that's a G60 throttle body that I've modified in the pictures at the top.

Turning out to be a collection of useful ideas here!

I used a flywheel bolt and brazed it to the shaft with a dowel to centre it. I ported the TB with a dremel and then polished it up.

No threaded holes in my TB... Only has closed idle switch, no WOT.

I'd say Alan's is the same idea as smudge's in post 22 (first pic), distinguishable as it sits obviously bridged off the top of the TB. Alan's has a bonnet spider cutout to compensate (I forget which block height he's using).

Bumping this for daniboy1_2_3 who just asked me about it.

To be honest, Smudge's way of doing it is far better than mine.
