I think this is where I'm going to post my numerous questions about SC'ing

OK that's cool, biggest crank pulley I've fitted with that setup was 175mm which should cover your needs. Do you know how big your eaton pulley size is? I think its 80mm but not 100%.
140mm crank 80mm eaton rev to 7K=12,250rpm(eaton speed)
    160mm crank =14,000rpm
    175mm crank =15,312
The M45 Eaton due to its small mass can peak to 16,000rpm and can take 14,000 rpm all day, with rpm comes boost but also a jump in output air temps, hope you have a big old intercooler fitted.
I've found that even the std crank with its harmonic damper isn't up to the job between 2700-3200rpm with a eaton setup, it's all about fitted a clutch alternator pulley,
    Advantages:
    Damping of belt vibrations
Reduced load on the belt drive
    Reduced tensioner movement
    Increased belt life
Improved noise behaviour of the belt drive
Increased alternator speed in the idling speed range
Reduced belt slip and noise on the alternator drive wheel during gear changes.

With this alt pulley fitted you can make/use a crank pulley that doesn't have a harmonic damper like many newer cars which now use non harmonic damper crank pulleys this is in part due to this alt pulley.
    Hope this info helps

I went to the scrappy a few weeks ago and bought myself and EDIS coil along with all the plugs that were on it and the HT leads. My intentions being to fit it with megasquirt. But since then I have seen quite a lot of different EDIS coils... Do they all work with MS yeah??

I'm unsure of what to do with the inlet manifold, but I see most people opt for the 20vt or S2 intake manifold modified to fit. Doing this would not be a problem for me, but it is added cost. What's the need/benefit of fitting a shorter intake manifold?

I'd probably be best asking this in more of a corrado specific place, but, what intercoolers have people managed to fit on a rado? Obviously I want the biggest and most free flowing possible to stop the engine blowing but also loose as little boost as poss. I find myself perving at all turbo cars that come in to work now seeing if the the IC is suitable for me

You don't need to use edis with MS. Or do you mean the zetec coil to go wasted spark?

Yeah, I got it with the intention of going wasted spark, assuming it will work, as I've seen many with it.
    I got it off a mk6 escort.

You are running a later Megasquirt 1/2 ver 3 PCB which has extra pins (36 and spares 4,3 etc) and Pin 30 for PWM idle. The use of EDIS is not required on later MS systems.
You can however use a 4 pole coil pack such as a Bosch unit from various Ford vehicles

or a Sagem unit from various French OEs

...to create a suitable output for a "wasted spark" ignition.

People tend to fit a S2 intake as this was always historically done or more recently thanks to vehicles as the WOLF R a 20vT system integrated to a 16v lower inlet. The benefit = Less pumping loss + increased response.

Intercooler does not have to be the biggest but has to be the best at rejecting heat from the compressor w/o disrupting airflow and reducing intake charge pressure. Corrados can benefit from a charge cooler the same size as the OE air to air intercooler.

So the Motorcraft one I've bought wont work?

    Intake charge:
I've got a corrado now, but I haven't had the space to take the engine out the mk3 to size things up (bought the rado without engine). I've seen the use of a water-air charge cooler in one system on a rado, but it was a custom built system, so have no idea on cost, though it was a really neat and tidy install, but I can't remember where I saw it now [:[] Is there seriously that little room? I was hoping to use a sprinter intercooler.
I know there will be far better coolers for my application, but cost is definitely a major factor.

I'm also ready to chase up and sort MS from you now toyotec, I'll PM you soon

From those components only the Visteon coil pack and flylead are required.
You will also need to get a set of plug leads made up that hybrid of 16v plug connectors and Ford Visteon coil pack pole connectors.

Speed inevitably costs money matey...If the off the shelf systems are not adequate then it is best to get good components in there. Yes a charge cooler will be more expensive than an auction spec or breaker yard component and you will need a small rad and a pump.

I take it that MS then uses the more accurate ABF trigger wheel?

I'm well aware of this, sucks balls

I think I'm just going to have to wait until the engine is is so I can size everything up. I don't think my funds will allow for a water-air charge cooler set up, I'll just have to find the best air-air that fits my budget...

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of ToyoSports Intercoolers? (click)

They seem cheap and have a whole bunch of different sizes available. Are they cheap for a reason?

What recirculation valve have people used? Do G60 TB's fit on the ABF or 20v manifold?

Not yet, I'm still at a block of what to use. And no updates of actual work either, not got enough space to start yet [8(]

I did a polo g40 eaton conversion, big power but very loud and always ripping the teeth off the ribbed belt.

We scrapped it off after about a month and fitted the std g-ladder.....

Well one finally came into work the other day, but I was real busy and it was only in for an hour for an mot...

It uses a bypass system, and is electrically controlled, so I think it would have to be another system, as I doubt megasquirt can be programmed to do that stuff???
