.... Who do you guys go to for heavily modified cars? Im specifically talking about engine conversions to such an extent that ive gone to....

Barclaycard who i was with bumped their premium up from 900 to 1850 a year [:s] ! Under my mum's name still [xx(]

Same insurance company, my own name is 2300, with 900 excess [xx(] [xx(] [xx(]

Been ringing HIC, Liverpool Victoria, Hyperformance, Adrian Flux etc etc etc all to no avail, most quote ridiculous figures (3000+) or just dont quote at all because of either the engine conversion or the fact i have 0 NCB because i have never had the insurance under my own name...

Any thoughts on companies i should try, guys? [><]

I think that's where the problem lies - sorry mate [:s]

HIC, Adrian Flux etc... seem to be the best for heavily modded as far as I'm aware

got to agree!! shocked to say the least!

i think you are going to have to insure your mums car for a couple of years to get some ncb Rich :p and carry on letting her insure yours for a while

i pay 600 with greenlight which includes 25000 business miles per year

Yes, and its always been a lot more under my own name even from day 1...... i mean about 800 per year more...

So always did it under my mums name, every year checked what it'd be under my own name... and always decided on my mums as i wouldve saved thousands by now each year. Need to get own insurance as im moving house and i need to start my own NCB, so im obviously reaping the rewards now [:s]

Do what Amy says, get your Mum to insure yours with you named driver, and you take out the policy on her car for a few years :)

If you're mum won't let you insure her car, buy the cheapest, crapiest car you can to insure and just leave it parked on the road for a year to build up you no claims.

    Rich, <gloat>mines only 537 Fully Comp</gloat> [:^:]

I am sorry though, looks like youve listed all the people i would consider for insuring an engine transplant car. I guess you'll be paying 1800 then.

You really need your own policy on something though.
