The admin fee could be scrapped if you could be bothered going to court over it, it has to be "fair and reasonable", which would be about a tenner, at most. But who's going to bother, hehe....
i have a company car and so pay no insurance otherwise i would, or just swap my insurance over to other car
I'm gonna go up to 100%. The car itself HAS to be insured under its own policy for your DOC cover to allow you to drive it with owners permission. A car on the road has to have an insurance policy specific to it (trader policys excluded). Like tax, you cant go and tax a car without insurance. i couldnt turn up and tax my car with just the mot, saying i dont have insurance but its ok, my missus drives it. I can find loads of references to it, but unfortunatly none fromt the MIB or anyone important, but its definatly the case
Oh no it isn't. We've been through this plenty of times before on the forum... unless your policy specifically states that the car must be insured (which virtually none do), you can drive it on AOC cover.
mm, but its not so much your insurance not covering you, if the car itself isnt insured then the tax aint valid, its not allowed on the road. If its not allowed on the road, the your insurance wont cover you... legal grey area i guess.....
The tax is valid whether or not the car is insured, you just can't renew it without proof of insurance. It's not a grey area at all, it's pretty clearly laid out. Your insurance covers you regardless of tax, why would they not? Tax doesn't affect anything regarding insurance, it is just that - a tax.
unfortunatly angrybob, IIRC you are 100% wrong. if you are insured to drive the car, 3rd party with consent from owner, YOU ARE INSURED, 2 insurance policies are not required. the police will pull you over, as there is no recorded insurance for that car. after a short "im insured third party, its my friends car", they let you go.
