Right, this computer seems to decline rapidly over time, to a point where it's getting ridiculous.

I reformatted it in November, and I had to reformat it again in February.

It's now slowing up again, and the fan is on full-time. I either reformat it yet again, or I find the damn problem.

    Problems:

    • when I start the computer up, it claims that internet explorer had an unexpected close down, despite being closed properly.
    • Google sidebar (news and weather thing) has glitched (as on previous occasions). Use for a while, then it dies. No reason known.
    • a dialogue box pops up after a while, saying something like com.dll not found. No idea what it relates to.
    • Lots of add ons in IE. Which of these can I disable without worrying about screwing the thing up:

      • CBrowserHelperObject
        Shockwave Flash Object

        Adobe PDF
        Adobe PDF Link Helper
        Adobe PDF Conversion Toolbar
        SmartSelect Class

        Google Toolbar
        Google Toolbar Helper
        Google Toolbar Notifier BHO
        Google Side Bar

        McAfee Phishing Filter
        scripyproxy

        Windows Live Sign-in Control
        Windows Live
        Groove GFS Browser Helper
        Windows Live Sign-in Helper
        Groove Folder Synchronisation
        Research

        Send to OneNote
        Research
        Discuss

        SSV Helper Class
        Sun Java Console

Can someone give me a hand? I paid 400 for this POS, and "4,000" mile service intervals wasn't what I signed up for.

Strange problem Chris[:s] The fan is on full time...Have you taken it apart and cleaned it out?
Its possible the CPU is caked in dust which would make it slow down.

I think if you were to reinstall again i would put windows 7 on, Anyone agree?

All memory is being used up so I think it's software playing up.

Sat at 70 - 80% CPU when doing nothing to it.

IE is open in 4 windows and is eating 200,000K of memory.
