I might be up for this as well, but I'm confused which one is it we're getting now, the front one, back one or both?

No change in circumstances I`m afraid, however this reminder may ;) provide the necessary motivation !

Yep, agreed - needs to happen anyway, but there's probably a market for ~ 10-20 of them, at least initially.

The Black Forest design is too far back in the engine bay in thickness terms for myself ideally, since it just uses access space - Paul's is a better design being a vertical thick bar.

Yep, ....mike had the same reply last year.

I`m going to be relocating to North America (Houston) in a few months time (for ~ 12 months), when I get settled I`ll buy one and send it back ... least I can do for not following up on initial promise [:$]

Going to chat to geezer, i do like the forest one but maybe make one with the vertical bar flat against the panel like Paul's.

I am not sure how Paul's is connected at each end, if he had to drill anything?

Straight through the bumper mounting points IIRC

From geezer after doing some other work on paul's car:

"His front engine brace does bolt on lower down than the bumper holes but i can see no reason why the side brackets cant be extended up to bolt in to the bumper holes , i will include the lower holes in the brackets so anyone wishing to bolt on lower down (means drilling holes) can do so".

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris i think now that's how paul's gets away with being thinner as it uses lower bolting points, any comments welcome?

I can't see where else you'd bolt it though - to pick up on the inner wing box sections, that's where it would have to be.

Cross ref the Black Forest Industries design, since I think that shows.

Hmm he must mean this piece:

I am guessing that the bit going up diagonal left (in the top pic) is going up to that bolt with the surface rust to the left of it (in the bottom pic), does that look like the bumper bolt (it has that earth? strap on it).

That's a design issue - not a mounting point AFAIK
