Yeah that's what i thought Chris & that it was originaly 3 pieces & lower bolts just hold it together.

Looks like it. One piece possibly ideal though.

Deffo would be one piece (after it is all welded together).

gillm we are hoping to get a place to make some once we have it all planned up.

So Chris do you think that bolt in the pic with the electric strap on it is the bumper bolt (below corner of battery)?

Not sure, just looking into it at the moment unless someelse does come up with anything.

Yeah geezer is working on Paul's car at the moment (wiring) & will have a good go of coping it in some shape or form.

Hi all , Paul is going to try to look out the original templates for his design so i can get some prices - trouble is he's working away from home most of the time so it may take a while to get them .

Having said that the design is quite simple and being an engineer by trade i'm sure i can design up and produce a template for my machine shop to copy , i'm just waiting to collect my new mk1 (collecting Sat 12th jan 08) and i will get straight onto the design once ive removed the engine . The design will deffo be of the flat plate types i think this will be of more use to me and everyone else , Its tight enough getting a oil filter in now without a massive tube sitting right in the way .

I will keep you posted as to progress as it happens

Wont be long though as i'd really like to get my car up and running by the end of may .

    Cheers
    Guy

Not from me unfortunately - never had / made enough time - came here to Singapore instead of Houston but as a coincidence am visiting there next week.

Not back to UK until next year to chase up initial plans.

Back home these days for now but still too lazy ;) to push the initial intention although I do know that the fabricator I had interested has scaled down his operation.

    Thoughts ?

    3kgs... for the new one.

Just can't quite see how thick it is, front to back on the tubes.

Assume they still refuse to ship to the UK?
