    hello peoples thought I,d start a build thread, new to this so you will have to bear with me. lost my garage a while back so work came to a stop consequently my car wont be ready for this year so Ive got the little black and green number so I can have fun this year. Have a new unit to work in as of next week now so off we go again, this is what Ive done so far:thumbup:

    first of all stripped underside

    got rid of any rotten bits and welded any weldy bits

    evicted the wheel well

    back panel off new one doctored and on
    [​IMG]
    then sealed all the joiney bits
    [​IMG]
    arches were next to go

    Green and black is a 1.8 16v for hill climb the other is going to be a 2.0 of some description to enter 2.0 group H of the berg cup, somthing Ive wanted to for a while now. hopefully will be ready for 2013[:D]

    wanted to keep a handbrake so made some bits and moved it back a bit

    then I'm back to the interior which is where am to date move into a new unit next week

    also binned the willwood pedal box and knocked up my own, a bit heavier but got pedal spacing exactly where I want it

    Yep, picked it up in guernsey, not had a chance to use it in anger yet.

    racecars direct I got it, litrally picked it up and stashed it away havn't had the chance to use it, have brought a new house and unit so things are a bit up in the air at the mo, am looking forward to playing in it though,it was built for hillclimb/sprint and the spec is........
    Standard KR block assembly, TSR head & 276 cams, Ashley 4-1 manifold with a custom centre exit system, Weber 45 DCOE carbs on a JMR tubular alloy intake manifold, DTA ignition management and trigger wheel kit.
    Weighing in at 740kgs. GTI gearbox, fitted with a 4.25 final drive with a Quaife ATB differential. Helix 4-paddle clutch, lightened standard type flywheel.
