Looking for wheels for my Mk1. It's getting painted a similar colour to the PVW rallye - it's another Audi Grey getting a pearl too. The arches are rolled right out so it will take some phat rollers!! What does everyone reckon? I don't know where to start...

EDIT: What do we all think of these in a 15X8 - certainly old school and will match all my chrome trim nicely:

Can't fit big brakes behind ATS cups... ;) 256mm max, unless you use spacers [xx(]

Only just got it, mate! ;) I can get pics but it ain't too attractive at the moment - looks like it's standing on stilts, isn't painted and has no interior   It's getting painted pearlescent grey in a week or two, then I'll cut the springs just to get the ride height where it will be when my new suspension arrives, then I can experiment with wheels and check the clearance :)

I'll post progress pics when the ball gets rolling - I'm so excited!!!

P.S. I should have mentioned it'll be running something like TSR 285mm brakes - will have 200 odd BHP so brakes will be important ;) They'll fit under 15's won't they?

Mattig steels. 8x15 with the centres painted Nimbus Grey. Not small enough for the proper Euro look but still "different".

I'd tell you another great wheel but I'm keeping that to myself. ;)

Best place for Mattig wheels is German ebay.Although I think R&A might have a contact. If you search on ebay and type Mattig SSF you will find some.

SSF stands for Sportstahlfelgen (sports steel wheels).

    On a Mk1 I'd fit either:

BBS Splits (not biased ;) )
    ATS Cups
    15" Pirelli P's (polished of course) :)

Depends if it's going to be a show car, or snarling tough track sl*g mobile.

If the latter, a set of 7x15 flat black Team Dynamics ProRace 1 ;)

I can be persuaded on the fat part!! I'm actually even thinking about putting the silver Ronal multi-spokes from my Ibiza on as I reckon they'd look quite good...? (16x6.5")
