- Mk2 16v vs 8v -

    No no no ! 2 litre 16v sorts out the low down torque, best of both worlds :p :p :clap:

    Doesn't the 1.8 valver make more torque than the 8v, just slightly higher..?

    And yeah.. 2.0 16v is the way! [:D]

    Yes, but not all the way through the rev range, making the 8v in gear times better in some places and a more flexible drive.

    I did really like my old 8v.. great engine!

    I guess its a personal preference kinda thing, I'll test drive both cars and see which feels right for me.

    16v all the way, although my first mk2 was an 8v and it was great from the lights

    have owned a 16v and driven loads of 8vs...

    personally i'd say go for a 16v.. so much more fun down twisty roads! keep it at 4k+ and it'll bring a huge grin to ya face!

    then you'll want more like i did! hehe
