I think it's an Evo Lancer one, does anyone know how thick it is?

it creates a bigger volume of space that must be filled up with air before boost pressure can build up. which leads to more lag.

same goes for anything that creates a larger volume. Like a large amount of boost pipes going all over the place.

I've gone for the non a/c G60 IC on mine, well upto the job, fits perfectly and is a VAG part.

As for the position of the TB, the S3 and TT engines in 210 and 225 spec (including the Seat lumps) have the TB to the right, the 150 and 180 spec engines have the TB to the left.

The reason the higher powered lumps have the inlet facing the right is something to do with better IC flow.

Sprinter IC fits ok as does the bigger MK4 rad, the G60/VR6 rad was adequate but the MK4 is much larger + the twin fans are run on separate motors and are very thin so giving more room for the IC and oil cooler.

Lol, i was about to post the pics of my layout but you beat me to it 1990

and yeah, i like the sky hooks too, theyre class, arent they? [:D]

The one on the right isnt connected but the lhs one is (if you look closely) and a massive one on the bottom.

Its a Forge one for a lancer evo 6, designed for around 450bhp i think, so plenty of IC really :) I think matt said it was 5cm thick.... :o I would pop out and measure it, but its raining [:^(]

I'm using an I/C from a Merc Sprinter. Nice and big!!

Will the Rallye front have to be 'modified' to accept it? I'm having doubts as to whether it's going to fit or not? [:s]

The torque steer would be insane, though - too much for the chassis by far. That's why VW never built one - they were worried about court cases. Much the same reason they put that wank spoiler on the back of the TT. Too much car, too little driver. Dear god, a 1.8l 8v Gti - that'd be virtually undriveable.
Actually in my case, it is. Very crashable though.
