This is my pride and joy,I've had it since I was 17!,I've just turned 30!,after using it as a daily for many years and being off the road for a few whilst doing conversions ect, also killing 2 1.8t lumps in the process,it's now time to do it right
Been working on this for a while now but I have a thread on retrorides aswel, not exactly a forum kind of guy really, although recently I've found it usefull in some ways for ideas/help ect
Forged pistons,I've decided to leave the rods standard as I'm not intending to push them beyond their limits
Head on and all torqued down, also fitted the inlet and Audi 80 2.0 throttle body, painted the inlet in a textured paint which looks pretty cool
Rocker cover painted in the same textured paint and fitted,t28 turbo and cast manifold fitted and pulleys on
Already did a load of body work and priming at home before taking the car to work, but il get on to the body work later in the thread, next I removed the front subframe stripped it and blasted it ready for paint
This is the paint I've used on the subframes, manifold, rocker cover ect,it's a polyurethane based paint,I've had things powder coated before and found it to be total crap, too brittle, chips and causes rust, this stuff is awesome, you can paint it straight to bare metal,it's almost bullet proof!,I've used the textured version on all of my bits
Ignore the rest of the mess,il get to that shortly!,subframes, crossmembers fitted along with refurbed rack with poly bushes
