No comparison, corrado looks FAR better.

Corrado handles better (so I've heard)

yeah the golfs are newer. am i right in thinkin the corrado is based on the mk2 golf and so handles better?? what about the weight is the corrado heavier? by how much gonna be a big factor in performance and handling.

IMO not much difference between the feel of the build of the later Corrado and the MK3, earlier Corrado's are very similar to MK2's. Change of materials perhaps....

Personally i think the Corrado looks and drives loads better than the Golf equivalents and is that little bit more individual too. Always gets looks, mainly coz people try to work out what it is!! Handling is impeccable, if you want to back to drift, it does! Really well balanced, even with that heavy lump of a VR over the front wheels!!

the corrados look good and have the performance to boot. was the corrado built by vw to superseed the golfs or targeting a different market? what are the performance figures of the corados i know they got the bigger vr lump but what about the other models? i know very little about the corrado but will be lookin in to them just through curiosity.

VR6 0-60 is supposed to be around 6.7, top end of about 150 i believe. 2.0 16V was about 8.5-9.0 to 60, dunno about top end and the lowly 2.0 8V was about 3/4 of a day to 35 with a top end of about 49! ;)

I believe they were built by Karmann to superseed the Scirocco..........

I'd take the Corrado, unless I needed to carry more than one passenger around often or I needed the boot space.

Love Corrado's - just look at them, FFS!

Corrado based on mk2 Golf floorplan. Looks and feels dated to me. Late VR6 storm is a nice car, apart from that, not for me.

Mk3 Golf feels more modern, isn't as quick or individual looking.

    Personal taste.

corrados are passats front half and mk2s rear half, simmilar weight to mk3s but allot stiffer bodied and far better handling, even standard! I think they look better when both cars standard but some moded mk3s look better in my opinion. my 9a modded rado pulled 7.3 to 60mph and 16sec flat at inters and the engine not run in or set up proper yet, rado for me any time

Have had a 8v MK3 gti followed by N reg VR6 Corrado. Mk3 is happiest on good roads corrado is like MK2 and will go anywhere and the handling even in standard form is much better than MK3. Corrado prices are dropping but beware of spares that have to come from VAG expensive and not much in stock. Also get an insurance quote first.
Apart from that I think Corrado is better and more enjoyable car.
