pineer dehp77mp is awesome around 240 i got mine for there's lots of people that say nothin but good about it
do you know if you can skip to folders as well as single tracks quickly are there any bad points on there like any files you cant play ?
sony have lost it stay away from em pioneer deh77mp you can either press the middle of the skip button to change folders or press function to bring the names of the folders up scroll through them then select the one you want to open only downside is they can run very hot but i'v had no probs
i've got this one. Alpine 7998 Works very similar to the other Alpines mentioned by the sounds of it. Your can flip through track by track, directory by directory or list all albums and tracks pick that way. Wonderful bit of kit but over 600!! Was going to sell it but i think i want to keep it now as the Sony that came with the MK3 won't play MP3's!
i had a look at them both in the flesh and the apline one aint that bad can someone point out why its better thou
I've got an alpine cda-7894RB, as above with alpine (older version of what the guys above have). Main reason I got alpine was because I had a system I liked and wanted it to sound the same as the alpine CD unit it replaced. But it sounds better looks like this The reason your mate is having that prob is probably because he has put all the tracks in the root folder of the CD. What I do is put each album in a folder on the CD, then you can tell the headunit which folder to play first and then which track within it too, works just like a cd changer. Another tip is put the track numbers at the start of the filename eg 01track1name 02track2name 03track3name. that way you ensure they are all in the same order when the headunit reads them in alphabetical order. Same could be used for folder names if you wanted to force a certain order for the albums on the cd too.
I used to have Sony HU and previously had a Kenwood unit when they first came out. I didn't like the Sony.. it seemed to be all bells and whistles rather than functionality. Will go for an Alpine probably next I think, they have a few nice models out at the moment.
I've got one of these Sonys and about the only thing wrong with it is the bloody bright blue display. It has 3 sets of rca/phono connections, skips tracks and albums, fast forwards ok and is very good at shock absorbtion, much better than my old Kenwood.
Mine's an Alpine CDA-9833R. Couldn't really stretch to the 9835R but it's practically identical, bar a a slight reduction in output power. Haven't tested out its MP3 capabilities yet, but I've got the x-over set to 3-way and already it makes everything sound incredible. Wanted one of those flat-panel Sonys but went for an Alpine due to superior sound quality.
i have a kenwood mp6090R had it for about 4 years now was possibly the first mp3 player headunit to hit the market under 500 its slow at loading and searching, but for all intents and purposes its great and as long as it carries on working ill cary on using it mp3 headunits are so useful a wouldnt go back now altho if i had to get another id get a nice fancie new one cause it would probably be a little quicker
http://www.cel-direct.com/shop1.asp?s_page=http://www.cel-di rect.com/detail.asp?ProductID=2563 I got one of these - 90 new. I paid 45 on ebay and its as new. Says it plays WMA files but blatantly doesn't. Can get it to skip more than my old sony cd headunit on rough roads, but can't really fault the sound quality or navigation. Is just a little slow at reading track titles.
