    hi

had a local customer come by with a saxo vts on bike bodies. and a predator ecu.
seems like this predator ecu is a packaged pug/citroen unit with megasquirt inside.

cars not running well, afr's all over the shop on the dyno.

downloaded megatune (various versions) and tunerstudio. used my dta usb>serial converter and did get to talk to the ecu. it reports back as being MS2Extra Rel 3.0.3s

just upgraded the tuner studio lite to the registered one for its next visit, after he's welded up his holed exhaust manifold (just before the innovate wideband sensor!)

any suggestions as to this thing? only played once with magatune adjusting ve's on a dragster which was fuel only control. afr table does not reflect what it actually does on the dyno on my wideband.

managed to speak to it, and adjust stuff a little to see if i could.. seemed ok so far - lol

    cheers
    bill

Mmm interested here as well as in megatune I wanted to know if the afr table is just a plot for ms to refer to or used to assist in autotune ? . I've just played with my ve table and adjusted fueling down at idle referring with innovate 02 senser / gauge ,I wanted to lean it out to 14 .7 at idle ,which I did

I've been playing about with the afr table but only for cruising puposes under 100 kpa. It goes open loop higher than this. The Ve table should be pretty well tuned before being used. The afr table is what the ms will try to target using EGO contol. How much it will adjust will depend on controller authority and step size. which is kept low.
For me it seems to help stabilise cruising to near stoich and adjusting fuel when it comes to hot starts, where i tend to go a bit lean.

I think the AFR tables should be switched of and the VE table tuned before it is used.

ok.. VE table will drive the fueling yea? thats what it seemed to do on the drag car which had fuel only control. VE tune is new to me, as my DTA's have injector times, and its like a comfortable old pair of shoes you just get used to..

What is the relationship between the AFR table and the VE table? where would these settings be in tuner studio?

I registered tuner studio last night so I guess later this week I will see whats occuring.

the afr table had some odd numbers in it..

was it configured for AlphaN or MAP sensor ?

Toyo is your man for Megasquirt , but remember my thread on DTA i was suprised at the difference's and usablilty.

is Lamda connected to the ecu if not ignore the AFR Table.

Ve controls fuel. Turn off the AFR tables as it will be trying to adjust fueling to the target afrs.
Ve is in %. it uses the fuel tabe as a base. Then AFR tables will try to trim depending on EGO settings. So you need to get the Ve table right first. Look through menus at the top for ego and lambda control. Turn them off and then either use tuning menu or fuel table in basic settings to adjust fuel.

Mmm ok so I'm also looking to adjust afr for 40 mph cruise as this is the average speed I usually hit, shall I input manually with a friend in the seat or turn on afr table and see if that will adjust the fueling ?

Turn the AFR table (closed-loop) off to adjust the fueling map.

Do a datalog and do it on your own. No need for a friend. The afr tables still may not get it right if your fueling isnt close.

i didn't use the AFR table for mapping

just a passenger/tuner adjusting the VE fuelling while watching the LM1 Guage.

Go for a drive, Datalog, then use MLW to read the logs and adjust where necessary. This will only work if you have your LC1 wired into the ecu. Been very helpful for me including AE settings. Easier than trying to watch lots of gauges and fuel tables and drive all at the same time.;)
