    And:

    Avid Code brakes
    Saint Chainset
Mavic 729's on Hop Pro 2's
    Easton Bars and Seat Post
X9 shifter and derailer (might be X7 because the price is getting beyond silly)

You're not wrong. When I was trying to justify buying the Cove to myself (jury's still out on that one) I worked out 6.5k in 2 years on bikes and upgrades, plus god only knows how much more on consumables, fuel for the Van, Holidays to the Alps etc.

Glad the stumpys doing the biz. Still loving my Endruo. Had the 36's as near as dam it replaced a few weeks back by Mojo on warranty and it's riding like a demon!

Still not sure if I like DH, haven't got my confidence back after so many off in Morzine and an Urban race I was in a few weeks back. Very slow at the moment.

Found a picture of my old Pro Flex 656. Absolutly loved this bike, sold it to buy my first car to an old neighbour of mine, he still uses it every day to ride to work, and still refuses to sell it back to me.

    Merlin Malt 1. Nice bike!

I'm off to Sunset to (finally) place the order on my Cove Shocker frame lunch time!! Im hoping itll arrive before Easter so I can have it built in time for Easter. Theyve got almost all the parts in stock by the frames are hard to come by, the builders only seem to ship stuff abroad after all the Canadian dealers are sorted. I want the most popular size in ether of the 2 popular colours (Orange or White) but Im not sure if thats a good or bad thing when it comes to availability.

    enduro info....

    peejay,
you say you have an enduro, do you mean a Specialized Enduro? i have a cannondale F700, i was thinking of replacing it with an Enduro Expert, what is your opinion on these, i keep hearing about issues with the front forks being "troublesome" what have been your experiences.

    cheers mark.

Yes, I've got an Spesh Endruo Expert but it's an '06 and doesn't share a single part with the 07 onwards Enduro SL's. Mine's epic, love it, Got Fox 36's up front and a DHX Air 5.0 at the back. it's a real hardcore XC machine, you can just fire through the trails on it. My mate has the very same one and did a weeks DH in the Alps on it.

The new ones are meant to be very good, much, much lighter and almost as good when the going gets rough. Most usable and far better at climbing. When they first came out I asked everyone who I saw riding one what it was like, they all liked it a lot but said they'd had problems with the forks but Spesh had changed them over no-questions-asked. They've probably got all the niggles sorted for the '08's

I wouldn't personally go from a cannondale F700 to an Spec Enduro unless its the newer one's... quite different bikes

I'm looking into getting a Kona Hoss. My Fire Mountain can no longer take the stick i give it especially now i'm a lot heavier than when i first got it.

I dont like the look of the Marzocchi DJ2s it comes with as stock though...they'll be first to go methinks!!

Kona Hoss are very highly rated for the heavier rider...don't think you'll go too wrong with one.

That seems to be the message i've picked up too. I'm 6'4" and about 16 stone. I need something thats built for a beasting. I was initially going for the Caldera but then i saw the Hoss and thought "bag it, i'll take it!!"[:D]
I'm getting it through a cycle2work scheme so in the end i'll end up with a 700 squid push-rod for about 400!
