Had my ATS DTC wheels arrived yesterday.

Appropriate Dunlop slick tires were put on the wheels and the car was ready for some testing.

Testing showed really nice dynamic behaviour, with great traction and front-rear balance. Needs some more power though...

Next step...Roll cage & stripping interior out

Got them straight from ATS Germany, for about 1000euros including shipping to Greece.

Looks very nice, did it come with the digifiz?

maybe a rallye front end would suit it better if it fits with the intercooler?

    Cheers guyz.

Maybe u r right. Rallye front end might fit better but i will need to remake new tubes for I/C and lines for oil cooler.

Some progress took place on the car last days.

Inner metal of the front and rear bumper were removed and bumpers were supported by Sparco fasteners.

WATER SPRAY INJECTORS for the intercooler were added

BATTERY was moved on the rear

INSIDE totally stripped out and resprayed

NEW DASH was manufactured as Digifiz was not compatible with the ECU

ENGINE is ready and made 255 bhp@6,300rpm with 37 Nm@3,400rpm. Car's weight with fluids and half tank (19litres) is 870 kilos.
02S GLB gearbox is ideally geared for track use with that amount of power. Car is pretty strong at the straight line and fair on the public bends with road tyres and KAAZ lsd. Inside the track, on 235/610/17 slicks is much much better with the KAAZ been very helpful.
Next step, will try to find ideal suspension geometry for the track as caster on the front and camber-toe on the rear is easily fully adjustable now. Stronger brakes (4-pot maybe) and roll cage should be on the plan also.

I don`t understand the reason for doing this ? Does it stiffen up the rear ? I know Golfs don't have independant rear suspension, does this work in the same way as a big ARB ? [:s]

Love the wide arches, makes it look purposeful

It stiffens up the rear beam, pretty much eliminating any flexing of it, which in turn keeps the wheel geometry/allignment from changing during corners when the rear beam is loaded up and possibly flexing. Gives a more taught consistant feel and will increase outright grip a bit :)
