Well at least i have been able to salvage something out of the G60t being binned. I swapped it for this little baby.

Its a 1987 MK2 small bumper 16v which come with loads of history and it has only covered 115K miles

The car came to me as a track car so it has been on a diet, usual lightened doors, weld in Safety Devices roll cage, H&R ARB's, 280mm front brakes, buckets seats, harness, poly bushed wishbones and rear beam. A set of spax coil overs and two sets of wheels.

My plans are to have a go at the Scottish sprint and hill climb season next year, this means that the for me to run in class A2 (production car class) it needs to but some weight back on[:^(]
I headed off to the scrap yard this morning and picked up a full interior complete with GTI head lining and have fitted most of it in.

Over the winter I plan pulling the engine out and giving it all a clean and tidy up ready for next year.

Stuck on my rallye wheels so see how they where for clearance

Was surprised how they fitted snug in the arches being 7 x 16 et 27.
    I have a set of TH 7 x 15 et 27 I think they would fit well with a set of 205 x 50 x 15's for road wheels.
I also fitted a most important addition to the sticker collection the car has, a CGTI sticker...

    thats what i thought....

I will use 195 x 50 x 15 for competition, there is a whole load of banter going on just now as the Scottish Hill climb rules are changing for 2010 to match the MSA English ones and part of that is production cars being able to run on 888 and the like. Should be interesting!!

That looks a sweet car Dave. I'm glad the deal worked out and you are happy with the car.

It looks great on the Rallye's compomotives! Is that a set of TSW Evos in black that the car came with?? Retro!

My dad had a red 16V on those wheels when I was about 10-11.

    Side exit is unusual. Loud?

Should make it along to watch some of the sprints next year.
