The bottom corners of the two dash trays have indeed been trimmed to avoid the speaker pods - only way to get the dash in the best fitting position :)

You can jus see it here, its not much, but makes all the difference

I've seen those MK3 switch's but they aren't easy to get, so the MK2 ones will do fine.

The mk3 switch gear on the dash isnt all that nice anyway :)

i think eltric windows and mirrors and windows are a must with mk3 dash as there isnt enough room for all the winders and knobs with the dash in.

Why not just use the window switch from a 5 door MK3/Vento??? Surely much easier to get hold of?? [:s]

What the rear window switch's??? There are no dash mounted front window switch's fromt he factory.

And the rear window switch isnt directly compatible as it only has a single pin output that switch's poliarity :)

Not as simple as it would appear ;)

yeah the mk3 windows switches dont just change the polarity like the mk2 window switches and motors

they go to a control box i think, that sorts everything out so they are not directly compatible and need relays and a load of other crap to make them fit and work, all too much hassle

Some more pics - these are cpovering some of the more detailed parts of the install, the bits i didnt get pics of last time.

Steering column had the brackets cut off, turned round a re-welded to allow it to be mounted to the cossmemeber as per the original MK3 install

The support piece fitted tot he tunnel with a nutsert - adds a lot of strength, again like the factory install.

Windscreen blower opeing remade by my to allow a perfect feed from the factory duct

Fusebox hung on the original location on the cross member, removed the MK2 hangers

To make the passenger side vent just need a filler piece betwen the two ducts

The steering column position in reation to the dash, fitted as high for clearance as required

Original MK3 cowl fitted with no visible modding for that factory look

I'll whack it all in an FAQ once i'm done ;)

It has helped that the dash is already modeed and i know what i'm doing, but its stil a damn fiddly operation.

It came out a damn sight quicker than it went in too

    And a couple more pictures. . .

Dash is 98% complete, just a few things to tidy up on the passenger side[8D]

Fully working clocks - playing with different lighting options hence the odd red/green combo

Here's where i chose to fit the window switch's, nice and useable position

The drivers side of the install is compelte :)

Good job mate. However, thats not a mk3 dash swap...

Thisis a mk3 dash swap. Major cut and shut required

    Nearly there

But then it is a mk3 polo dash in a mk1 polo, which really shouldn't work.

Don't think I'll bother doing an FAQ for mine somehow [:[]
