Which baseplate is that for the filter? Have you had it custom drilled from a blank one, or is it one of the ready made fitments they sell?

    ^^^^And what golden said ;)

The base plate is from piper cross. they do them pre-cut, or blank. The info they need is the centre distance between the inner 2 tb's. Mine was 100mm, and the base plate is 101mm.

The TB's are Webber Alpha. as some of you know ive had them for some time now, just getting round to fitting them.

    heres a couple more pics.

I was going to go for the K&N filter, as they now have integral plastic trumpets. but not sure on the space in the engine bay. plus they dont look as good as shiny trumpets.

But the K&N filters might give more performance. Thats just a future thought.

The injectors, are Grey injectors. I bought it all ages ago, after the dudes engine broke! [:s]

In the pics, there is a cheapish fuel filter (Just to get me started)

    Throttle Linkage.

Fuel Pressure Regulator - 3Bar (None adjustable)

Trumpets - Which i got for a v good price.

I bought most of it from Demon Tweeks at inters, and the Trumpets from a website (not got the name to hand)

Just getting everything all in one place before friday, and the long weekend. (got all next week off also) [:D]

Is the throttle linkage made by a company called Syntec or something like
that? If so it's absolute sh[/i]it. I've got one myself. It just about does the
job but the fit's appalling and the price is totally unjustified when you
look at how simple a design it is and how bad the welds are.

Make sure you get the tension of the bodies onto the manifold spot on to
avoid air leaks. Also paper gaskets between the bodies/filter baseplate/
    trumpets are recommended.

Isnt such a short trumpet a bit detrimental to power/torque..??

not really, trumpet lenght a vary from car to car...engine to engine depending wot mods have been done.

its one of those 'suck it and see' things

His manifold gives the inlet a bit more length compared to the dth bodies, so it'll probably want slightly shorter trumpets than yours is happy with.

I will be using the one on the car, which has been upgraded. Northampton Motorsport mentioned it would be ok.

Just need to remove the accumalator from the system.
The throttle linkage is a webber one. so should be ok. looks good to me. (and im really picky). IIRC it was about 65.

I hadnt thought about gaskets on that side. will look into it.

    Yep - XLR8
The guy there is really helpfull and good prices also.

As mentioned above its all dependant on engine, and the work been carried out.

A very good explantion is described here - Air Horns

In the scheme of things it will have little effect. The major itme i was loking for was the a small length as to fit in the space in the mk1.

It was a bit of a generalisation wasn't it? [:$]

In theory with all else being equal the added length of the manifold would mean that you'll need shorter trumpets to give the same overall inlet length from head to bell mouth.

Agreeded! [:D] The guys at NMS, said that it wont change too much. the new air horn system that K&N use come in one length, and are plastic. see pic above ^^^
