All going well, but a fuel line cracked, so a frantic run around trying to stem the flow onto the new tarmac drive. Off the to motor factors this morning to get new rubber fuel lines, front to rear. ahh well [:s]
    Will post pics later[/QUOTE]
mk2 gti golf fuel lines should do the job, plenty in the scrappy`s,should be just about right length wise :)

Manifold on, it took 3 hours for that baby to go on. the top bolts where a tight beeeeacth! you wouldnd believe it!

Test fitting the TB's in in the engine bay, any body stop the show stopper??????

Well after today i managed to fit new copper fuel lines front to rear. (Without removing the anti roll bar)

Just done a bit a underseal behind the fuel pump while it was out. just need to run the rubber connecting hoses now.

The bit that is causing the major problem is the radiator now. as you can see in the pics.

any body know which one i can use to shift it across abit and under the front slam panel?

is it a nova one?? any ideas? im abit stuck.

the other problem is the top header pipe needs moving. my mate made a new pipe for it, but it sits abit high. im gonna have to ask him nicely to make a new one.

all in all a good day, but knackered now!

ooh heres a wee movie to show the tight squezze

Will the reno 19 top pipe fit to the standard engine water head pipe outlet??

Does it have an expansion tank? and are the temp sender and fan the same? cheers for the help [:D]

use the mk1 exp tank,if you use the nova rad the top hose exits at the side so it was just a case of a trip to the scrappy to see what would fit,use the nove fan setup and wire to suit

Cheers neil! i need the encouragment, im knackered!

Ive got a 1.2 nova rad. it looks small.

I went to the local motor factors, and found this out.

    GTE - Core Demensions

    530L 285H

    1.2 - Core Demensions
    530L 229H (+legs)

But the same water capacity 5.5 -6 L
    Work that one out???

I will try and use the 1.2L one first, because ive got all the fan and the sensors etc. and i think it will sit alot lower with the extra legs chopped off. Just gotta work the brackets out now
    [:s]

ohh i have sourced a GTE rad of the net, but not certain if i will need it. will the GTE work better? (iguess it will)

i used the fan set up from a 1.2 nova, plugged straight in and did the job brilliantly!

just made a couple custom brackets that slipped on/bolted to the corsa rad which also worked really well, guy at rolling road commented on how cool it ran for a vw!

keep the pics coming too m8,and drink plenty coffee

After some more beer and some drunken ideas

I came up with this idea for the water pipe problem. i have a water pipe which has been modified straight, but it points out to the dip stick. so to get round it, it would require and right angle down then around.

    so my idea was this.

block off the pipe to the rad, and use the down part. from this t-piece it off to the rad.

one thought was the flow of the water. but its not going to be restricted as its gonna just be moved 30mm.

it stops a unecessary right angle from the top, and makes a tidier job.

    what do ya think???

Not got too many pics today.

The radiator fits into the mounting holes in the bottom. so for future reference the GTE will fit into the mounting holes at the bottom. and top brackets are required.

I have given my mate so sketches for the brackets, nothing to hard to make up. Ive cut the legs off the smaller 1.2L rad, so it sits lower, and thus have a direct air flow to the TB's.

All the fuel lines are in, and connected up. the fuel pump is now conencted to the ECU. carried out a flush of the new copper and rubber fuel lines.

then connected the fuel lines up correctly. no leaks any where.

All eletronic ecu connections done. just the dash sensor wiring to do.

took sumpp off and Cleaned oil pick up. fuel of crap!!! i would suggest that every body does that.

    Things to do:
    -------------

Crank disc (needs bottom pulley modifing)
    Rad pipes (Scrap yard tomorrow)

with that done the car should run. fingers crossed. [:s] [:s] [:s]

    Other things to do:
    -------------------
    Alterantor bracket
    General tiding up.

Should be running tomorrow night. im really wishing that it starts up first time.

    nice one m8 [:D]

im getting excited and its not mine!

i got a pic of the ol' mk1 rad today, little late like but what the hell, this is a corsa rad with nova fan and cowling.

fixing points in red,and the leg (blue-circled) needed a hole drilling due to the size of the rad!

    neil. :)
