Well, after months of scouring the net looking through
classifieds receiving pictures from sellers of their so called
'Pride and joy'.. and days avoiding work researching what
colour, what year, what engine what price and which polish to
use when I get it :p .. I finally handed over a wad of hard
    earned cash and bought a 1991 mk2 16v Golf GTi. [:D]

It'll take a while to get use to, coming from a mk4 1.8T.. Snug
Recaro's, soggy suspension, turbo kick, cup holders.. just wish I
    could keep both [:^(]

More pics to come for sure when I get the Estorils reconditioned
    and a new exhaust fitted..

That looks like it's just rolled of the production line, good job. It's always nice to see a mint original GTi.

Cheers.. pretty pleased on the whole.. even though I've spent
400 already. New power steering pump, new alternator and a
mini service.. kinda new that when I handed over the wedge
though.. was advertised as 2900, got down to 2500 :) .

The Estorils stood out first when I saw it.. wouldn't mind a set
like yours though Peter!! Are they BBS RM's?

Photography is a small hobby of mine, so know roughly how to
make a car look good [:$]

    Looks fantastic.

All I would change is the amber lenses - everything else looks spot on.

Yeah, they are two piece RM's but it's running on the original RA's at the moment , splits are a nightmare to maintain at the best of times especially in winter so they won't be going backon till April time.
Have you got any plans for or are you going to keep it original?

Looks fantastic, just like new! Good to see a standard spec GTI. Smoked indicators would look good.

RMs look so good all polished up on a dark colour.. probably
wait until Inters to pick up a set of summer rims.

I'd like to keep it as original as possible and wouldn't do
anything that can't easily be undone.. although I must admit I
like the idea of a 1.8t conversion, sooo I've just shot myself in
the foot there [8(] .. driving around in a 230hp beefa Cupra for
a week last year did that for me!

Probably go for a s/s exhaust, nothing too harsh (no DTM
effort).. and I like the crystal headlight conversion, looks clean.

It's also sitting a bit high at the mo.. just had all new standard
    suspension overhaul.. nice n tight!

The indicators are clear (when they're not on).. well they're not
standard orange lenses that I'm sure.. must be cheapo jobs??

The front bumper has a bad scrape on the one side.. so when I
get around to fixing that I'll fit some new lenses then.. not sure
wether smoked or crystal.. The one fog lamp is cracked as well,
not sure what options are availible there.. definitely going for a
full set of crystal headlights though.
