Love the car and the especially the wheels, I want a set of them or similar, is anyone selling any or know of anywhere you can buy em from? What make \ model are they?

This is my first post btw so hi all!

I drive a Mk1 Carbiolet in white at the moment, totally standard but am looking to add a set of coilovers and alloys, not too big, but nice and wide (preferably deep dish). Any info on coils or wheels grately apprieciated, want to keep some ride quality ;) if poss!

    Many Thanks in advance
    Chris.

Cheers fella, I'll have a look on style dynamix site and see if theres anything I fancy, I like the idea of having fatter back wheels, but dunno if I should get the coils first incase it bottoms out.

I'm also getting a lot of creaking from the front end and the left side wheel seems to skip a bit on corners and really doesnt seem planted, it has new standard shox & springs, but could there be something else aswell causing the front end to knock and creak (sometimes sounds like dash, sometimes sounds like roll bars or something???)
I'm a memeber of golfgti.co.uk forum, but never been on pvw and have only had my mk1 for about 11 months
    Cheers,
    Chris

al,i reckon i was pulling about 120mph [:^(] id only just gone into fifth(need more power!!!),and it goes on forever being a diesel box,ive hit the mileage reset before

chris, you are best off going for the coilies first then you can play around with ride heights and stiffness settings etc...not sure on the creaking [:s] spring may not be seated correctly [:?:]

Mk1's rule! Just picked up a V (1980) Mk1 GTI 1600. Previous owner had the body fully refurbed 2 years ago, genuine new panels and bare metal respray in Black. Needs more poke, was gonna keep it standard, but after seeing your cars, I've changed my mind! :) Looking at 16V. Is your Mk1 a KR, Vick? Did you do the conversion yourself? What wheels are on your car? Questions, questions! [:s]
