Hi guys I have a set of Estorils and I'm getting new tyres this weekend. Going to get some nice Toyos.

At the minute they are 185/55/15, but I want a lower profile slightly wider tyre...
    was thinking 195/45/15?

Is that going to be ok? Not too low a profile? The car is a mk2 gti lowered 40mm.

    Thanks guys

    Ollie

    Dont know mate! [:$]

If anyone knows what width Estorils are then that would be great?!

Mk3valver will I be ok with the 45 profile? And going a little wider? Wont look stupid will it?

As for the Toyos Ive never had them before but theyve come very highly reccomended by a few pals, what did you think was wrong? Crap in the wet or summat?

i found with toyo's that they didn't even have the level of grip that the budget brand i had on before. They were quite proggressive when they gave way - pointless if that is a trade for overall grip imo... a few people have said the same whilst others love toyo's... only ever heard good things about eagle's though.

As for tyre sizes wouldn't really know, I put 205 width on my 6.5 (basically just swapped the tyre's onto my new wheels so I could see what they looked like on my car!!) they do look a bit ballon like!!! a 195 on a 6.5 rim is perfect...

in which case 185 is the best size, 195 will look a little bit bulbous i think. maybe some one can show pics?

Gonna get the 50 profile ones, alot better than 65 profile which was what my BBS' were! Haha that was interesting, especially on standard suspension with knackered rear shocks!
