To be honest the only thing that I think about on my bike is which car is going to try and knock me off next.

I hope you are joking Jimmy Denton about riding close behind bikes because if you do knock somebody off then you deserve to get the sh*t kicked out of you.

i'm quite happy to follow a decent rider who dissappears round corners as well. but if you ever see my red vr6 approaching from behind at speed, and your not in the mood, can you let me through?!!! i always let bikes past safely.

Also, 2 strokes make on average 250bhp/litre without much strain. Think the four strokes are only just reaching that, and that's GP machines only.

Also, 2 stroke engines are lighter and simpler. Aprilia's DITECH direct (i.e. straight into cylinder) injection technology makes any stroker as clean as a four stroke, if not better. As yet only used on moooooooooooooopeds tho.

    Old strokers are the best. Kawasaki H2? 750cc 3 cylinder aircooled. sh*t brakes, sh*t frame. A man's bike :).

...sorry. *insert vague conciliatory comment to cars for being warm so hardcore car ppl don't get annoyed*

p.s. i always move over for bikes but as a couple of you have said they don't like letting me through either.

I'm always very conscious of bikes on the road... years spent on the back of my dads made me very aware...

I did have fun on Sunday though.. went over the Cat and Fiddle (quite local to me) and managed to kill a Hyabusa.. it was wet and he couldn't get any power down! 4 tyres have an advantage some times!

When out on the A roads some bikers do wonder how a black barge can keep with them (well past 3 figures)

I am always very wary... bikers can't really see you in their mirrors so you have to wait for a long stretch of road to make a safe move.

Multiple bikers in convoy is even worse!

Bikers deserve respect and drives me nuts when you see idiots not giving them room on the road!

A bike will give you a feeling of speed that car never will! ;)

I always get nervous when bikes are around my car, you never know which way theyre gonna decide to go coz theyre just so small ! Its difficult to keep an eye on them all the time so i just try and give them as much room as i possibly can, plus they tend to do really stupid things [:o)] (especially mopeds [:x] )

As a biker you develop a level of awareness that is much higher than when you are driving your car.

When I'm on the bike I'm looking to see if car drivers have seen me or not, looking out for potholes, grit/sand on road and so many other things.

I would say when I am riding the bike my concetration to riding is 100% compared to about 60-70% when driving the car (normal driving in town, not high speed).

Youve got to have respect for bikers, esspecially coming into this time of year. Although u do get some t*ats on 2 wheels, just like u do on 4. We got tailgated by a couple of bikers for bout 20 miles on the motorway recently. At one point they were 2 ft behind us. during moments like that u just want to slam the brakes on!! Idiots

Tailgaiting on a bike is soooooo stupid.

Bikes can't get as much grip as cars when braking.

There's a disturbing number of "power rangers" (i.e. perfectly co-ordinating gear, shiney bike polished more than ridden) who use the bikes as toys, these are mostly the tw*ts who tailgate and buzz you an inch from your wing mirror... However, watch them hide away and drive the mondeo into work as the first black cloud appears to threaten their shiny, potential-unrealised toy.

when im on my mountain bike (not that theres mountains in london!) im always watching the road as well as traffic

doesnt take much to have the 2 wheels out of control

got a small scar on my shin from hitting gravel too fast going downhill and departing the bike [xx(]

luckily nothing was broken but it doesnt take more than a nudge to have a biker off

us cyclists aint so bad cos we r scared of the cars :p

As car drivers you have to give bikers more respect on the roads. If we have a coming together then we know who`s gonna come of worst. [:^(]
I am very aware of bikes when out for a blast in the VR but would certainly wish they would have the same view when I come up behind them!!! Fairs fair n` all that

oi! im 16 and ride a ped, but have to admit after watching many of the drivers they simply just dont know how to drive, but they all learn there lesson after a couple of accidents like me, but one thing that p***es me off is cars which wont accept a ped overtaking them in moving traffic or stationary, they seem to hate is just because they are 50cc engines [:x]
