OR, i'm quite sure there cant be that much electronically different with the two rev counter circuits, get them both apart and have a wee inspection - might be blindingly obvious what needs swapped over to convert each when you see both side beside.
My Shopping List:- Corrado VR6 Rad & Fans Uprated Front Engine Mount Mk3 VR6 Clocks Passat 16v Clocks ARBs And i think thats all i need for my super easy conversion!
I'll do as much as i can with the aid of Ivan. I have no space at my flat (anyone got a 2 storey mezzanine i can construct with cherry picker for lifting cars onto it??), so will take them to his unit to use his ramps and lifts. Might have it done within the month!!
Yeah, i hadnt considered selling the Passat as a 16v afterwards before. Ive got Dalj to thank for that, and making me see the light with this conversion being a possibility. Cant wait now!! Oh, also forgot, i will need some Mk3 VR6 Carriers and 280mm discs (while using my existing 16v calipers). Or a G60 brake setup. The former will be cheaper though. Also forgot, is the 1994/1995 M plate VR6 OBD1 or OBD2?? Cant remember the changeover year. Edited by: Deako
That was my main initial concern. VR6 into K-Jet Mk2 isnt a problem, been done millions of times. K-Jet into VR6?? No idea. What bout airbox on Passat too, can i run the 16v K-Jet setup completely?
I think you may run into a problem with your inj system any pics of your system in your car, is it fully mappable electronic inj ?
No, its mechanical K-Jet. Why will i run into problems in my car? The entire Motronic (i think) injection system gets swapped from the passat and into my car. And vice versa.
you can't use the mech inj in the passat, it will never pass the emmisions level for cars with a cat converter
Prob get just as much selling the abf as a complete conversion than selling a mech injection passat too
