Well, you have actually mentioned it else where so yes, i do know who refering to. Why bring everyone you can into it, different forum, different people, is that all the come back up you have? Hoist by her own petard, I think you'll find. A petard being an early form of hand grenade, and the hoisting referring to being blown into the air when the unreliable fuse on said petard burnt down too quickly. Was that on topic OK?
At the risk of suggesting the son of god didn't explain it well enough... The quote is "oh what sport to see an engineer hoist by his own petard" The engineer being the military explosives specialist setting charges (the petard) to use against the enemy, and being Hoist (thrown in the air) when the fuze was a little quicker than planned. But back on topic - I am not going to send PMs to everyone who's displaying inappropriate attitude on the forum - as you all seem to be reading this thread... Any more *****ing and I will start banning people. Why? Because I can.
Maybe it's just grumpy with a bad attitude.......... I think I originally read that explanation about being "Hoist by one's own petard" in a book by Michael Caine when I was about 12.......... one of those random fact books about things you didn't want to know. I think it was in the upstairs bathroom for about five years........
