Phoned for Tyre Quote - Got A Lecture!!!!

Phoned one o the local tyre places for a quote on 195/50 tyres for the powertech's.

Asked for toyo T1S/R's, got told, 'oh they are a rubbinsh tyre'

So said, but i need them for my application, cos they are good

Got asked why, said they are to go on a 8" rim.

Guy goes off on one Sayin about how that dangerous, gave me a talk on sidewall construction, how its illegal, my insurance is invalid etc etc

Then to finish said - i wouldnt fit them for you anyway



What happened to the customer being right




I know perfectly well that a stretch aint ideal, i know handling suffers

Bu i'm also aware that HUNDREDS of other poepl run tyres stretched - Jus cos no one else up here does

Order them from us and I'll happily tell you what a good idea it is to fit them to your car.

Cos the way it works up here, most places wont fit a tyre not purchased from them

No I wouldn't I send them to the ferry port and you could toddle across on your row boat or what ever you islanders use and collect them one at a time so you don't sink.

lol i went to pristine to get a quote on some alloys to be worked on, had all of the guys come out and look at the toyos stretched on the back of the porsche rims, 8 inch with a 195/45, which is nothing really, looks nice though, but not a major stretch in my books, but there was a lot of oohing and arrhing over them-surprise more so , them saying they would never do it.

the mobile fitter how fitted my tyres wasn't bothered really though he did ask several times if all the wheels were the same and if this size tyre should go on them
