Hi Chris, That makes a bit of sense thinking about it. It was first registered to VW Motorsport which they would have done if they were running the car, but I was surprised when I thought it was a challenge car that it wasn't registered to first owner.
Cool, thanks for that. That's the exact trim I got the car in, and the driver in this pic is Dan who I bought the car from. I beleive this is the only rally he did in around 3 years of owning the car which is why he sold it on.
Yes, a close ratio box would be one of my next upgrades, as on the standard box it hasn't quite got enough acceleration for my liking, too much top end. Not sure if you could bolt a gearbox from a 1 litre car or something?
I saw this at Smeatharpe on the 29th Dec, i was there with a few mates. we were raging it around in a 2L zetec mk1 escort and couldn't pass you. that was anoying!
